Defends the administration’s airlift from Afghanistan.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken appeared before the House of Representative’s Foreign Affairs Committee this week. He gave testimony about the plan of President Biden’s administration to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. The plan was the largest airlift in U.S. history, resulting in over 120,000 people being evacuated from the Middle East.
Secretary Blinken faulted the prior administration, saying that President Biden “inherited a deadline. We did not inherit a plan.” He testified about the dilemma that the president faced upon entering office stating that President Biden, “faced the choice between ending the war or escalating it.” Had the U.S. not followed President Trump’s timeline, Secretary Blinken said, American forces would have faced an immediate attack from the Taliban.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Blinken to seek God’s guidance in leading the State Department.
- For the House Foreign Affairs Committee as members provide oversight to the executive branch.
- For President Biden to look to the Lord for the wisdom to lead the nation’s military.
